USS Arlington (LPD-24)
A San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock, named for Arlington, Virginia, the location of the Pentagon and the crash site of American Airlines Flight 77 during the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001. Like her sister ships, USS New York and Somerset, she is named in commemoration of the attacks to remember those who lost their lives and honor the First Responders at the Pentagon on 9/11.
USS Arlington Community Alliance

The USS Arlington Community Alliance evolved from the USS Arlington Commissioning Committee after the ship was commissioned.
The mission of the USS Arlington Community Alliance is to remember & honor the victims, and to recognize the bravery & efforts of the first responders, at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. We work to maintain the link between this namesake ship and the 9/11 family members, first responders, and the community.
USS Arlington Community Alliance works to educate the sailors of the USS Arlington through visits to the ship by those at the Pentagon on 9/11 and hosting crew members in Arlington to interact with the community.
The crew of the USS Arlington represents the United State of America, the Navy, and their ship. They also have the honor to represent those at the Pentagon on 9/11.
